Prayer Request for abducted priest in Yemen Attacks who might be killed on Good Friday

Hello friends,

I hope that all of you are doing well as you accompany our Lord on the way of the cross this week.

I wanted to share with you a prayer request – Please pray for the brother of one of my mission partners, a Salesian priest named Fr. Tom Uzhunnalil, who was abducted in early March during the attack on a convent and nursing home for the elderly and disabled run by Missionaries of Charity in Yemen. He had been staying with the sisters since his church was attacked …and burned down last year and has been missing since the attack. There is some news circulating that he is to be tortured and crucified by his captors on Good Friday, but it is yet to be confirmed. If you could join in praying and offering up any of your Holy Week sacrifices for Fr. Tom, his family, friends, and his captors…for unwavering faith, hope, and love and conversion of hearts. I spoke with his family today and was so inspired by their desire for nothing short of God’s will. And prayers also for all around the world who are being persecuted, tortured, and martyred every day for believing in Christ. And for us! That our “yes” in following Him would really mean “yes,” no matter where it leads.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfector of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:1-2).

Have a blessed Holy Week friends! Thank you for praying.

“Remember Oh most gracious Virgin Mary….”
